Antique French travelling steamer trunk case made in the 1910s or 1920s probably. Basically a cube shape, wooden construction with curved top corners, covered in pig skin leather, bound with hardwood struts and brass brackets and studs. Brass locks and catches (no keys). The top corners have an extra layer of hide. There's a leather handle on the top. Some nice old travel labels from France, Germany and Switzerland. The inside is lined with striped fabric. Condition is pretty good structurally: it's solid and sound; cosmetically there are some wrinkles in the leather here and there but not much. The skin has become quite marked and discoloured, especially on top; pigskin does seem to do that. The result is not displeasing though: rather it's part of its charm.
